Chocolate Pineapple Protein Drink

by Ronnie J
(NYC)

Ever get tired of the same old protein drink? DON'T! Your protein drinks are as interesting as any recipe book- just use your creative side. Think about your favorite ingredients and how to literally throw HEALTHY foods into the protein mix.

- 5 oz cold skim milk (I use organic)
- 1 scoop rich double chocolate whey protein.
- Mix in the blender for 30 seconds

I still love the rich double chocolate whey protein and I also prefer using skim milk over water. Here are the key ingredients for a smoothie like pineapple protein drink.

easy enough, right?

Now for the fun stuff........

- Buy fresh pineapple (I use organic) and slice up two nice size chunks the night before and FREEZE them. Freezing the fruit will give you a smoothie like consistency if you like that. I do- and the flavor is rich and awesome. Be sure to use fresh pineapple that you freeze the night before.

- add 2-3 ice cubes

I have a separate coffee grinder that is used for grinding herbs, nuts and yes FIBER ONE!

I grind my Fiber One every week for my protein drinks

so now add one generous tablespoon of Fiber One to the blender. HEALTHY)!!!!

You do not taste this in the drink after blending and you do not see it either.

NOW- Add one tablespoon of cold pressed organic ground flaxseed.

Blend an additional 45 seconds checking that the ice has been broken down. You can feel this when you lift the glass.

Note: Flaxseed could add a bit of a nutty flavor to the drink- if you prefer to leave this ingredient out feel free to do so but try it when using a banana recipe ((see Peanut Butter Banana recipe)) because it goes well in that drink.

I like adding it to all my drinks!

You now have a nice thick healthy protein drink. I use it as a breakfast several times a week.
