ON Review 2:

I am not great at eating breakfast and really do not want to go without anything knowing that cannot be good for me. So a protein drink seemed ideal to me. I am hooked. There are so many things I like about my Optimim Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey. For me it is a perfect breakfast.

I use my powder in a blender and although I have made it using water I prefer using 6 ozs. organic fat free milk for both the texture and the flavor.

My favorite flavor is the Double Rich Chocolate but I also like the Vanilla Ice Cream, Extreme Milk Chocolate, the Strawberry and the Chocolate Malt. Yes, I have tasted them all. I have them all.

One scoop of powder gives me 24 g of protein, 5.5 g BCAAs, there is only 1 g of fat per serving and the sugar content is 1 g with 120 calories before I add my fat free milk.. That is a good balance and something I am pleased to drink up. And it is wonderful and frothy and tasty. I totally enjoy it. It blends really well. I have not tried the mix and stir method although the container clearly suggests that it can be done that way for on the go.

I have had this with absolutely nothing in it but ice and fat free milk and it taste absolutely excellent much like a shake one would get in a diner.

Most days I do add one fruit to it and I freeze my fruit the night before- this brings even more texture and flavor to the shake making it extremely enjoyable. I do not feel bloated after I consume the drink but I do feel very much satisfied and content.

Suggestions for what I add (if this interest you) are 1/2 of a frozen banana (peel and freeze your banana in a freezer bag the night before )or frozen strawberries- again prepare the night before- 3 -5 berries are perfect- blueberries work well too as does pineapple. I would not suggest adding more than one fruit type as you them lose the flavors of any specific one fruit.

I have tried it and felt the drink was not as enjoyable- but play around and see what you enjoy. I also add organic ground flax seed and some times one teaspoon of fresh peanut butter from Whole Foods or sliver almonds. There are so many different ingredients you can explore and try. Experiment and see what you like.

But as a stand alone product I am more than pleased and this protein drink satisfies my hunger for 4-5 hours. How fulfilling is that! A totally new and exciting discovery for me and i look forward to my protein drinks every morning. I am still exploring what other fruits I might enjoy in my drink.

There is nothing about the product I do not like- perfect protein drink for me. Straight up or with an added fruit. I have tried two other popular brands- this is the one I will be sticking with. I have several flavors in my apartment so I do not get bored. I think this is important if you can afford a second or third flavor when making your selection to your favorite brand.

Today I am adding a few pieces of 60% dark chocolate pearls- curious how that taste in the drink. Keep in mind that I pair my protein flavor with a complimentary fruit- meaning I plan what protein flavor will work best with which fruit. Let me know what you enjoy.

One piece of advise- do price shop- But I am loving this and welcome communication to anyone who wants to talk protein. Please Visit my Site
